New patient general visit

Tooth ache/Emergency Visit

Tooth ache/Emergency Visit

As a new patient the dental hygienist will discuss your dental history and answer any questions you may have regarding oral hygiene habits, signs of gum disease, or brushing and flossing techniques.  You will take a complete series of X-rays. You will see the dentist for a comprehensive exam where they check your entire mouth. You will discuss any concerns, sensitivity, or issues you are experiencing at this time.

At your first visit, you may not receive a cleaning. A cleaning may be completed after the doctor ensures it is the appropriate treatment for your specific oral health. There are certain conditions that determine if a cleaning is not the first best course of treatment. Once your oral health is stabilized, you can expect to have your exam and cleaning/hygiene appointments at the same time going forward.

When you come for an emergency dental exam, the dentist will only inspect the afflicted area causing your emergency. After x-rays are taken and the limited exam performed, the dentist will talk to you about the best course of action.  If your crisis requires immediate treatment, you may be scheduled for an appointment that same day. If the problem can wait for a while, you may be scheduled within the coming days.
